Why You'll Love This Recipe
'Tis the season for pie, especially this Easy Holiday Apple Pie! Everything we love about apple pie, but with a quick and easy store-bought shortcut!
Pie Crust
For some reason, me and pie crust have never really gotten along! I've tried making pie crust by hand, with a mixer, using forks, using a pastry cutter, and it never seems to work out. I know how disappointing it can be watching your pie deflate in the oven!
When it comes to the holidays, there's already so much going on, I say skip the stress, and buy a store-bought pie crust! My recommendation for making it look homemade is to buy a package of just the crust. Then roll out the crust into a pie dish you have at home!
Then, crimp the edges or lattice the top, and no one would ever think that you used store-bought pie crust!
Holiday Pies
Thanksgiving is all about the pies for me! From apple, to pecan, to pumpkin, I love them all! My favorite part is getting a little piece of each of them, then a large scoop of vanilla ice cream! I mean, who even needs turkey when you have three different pies for dessert!?
I have a whole blog post dedicated to some quick and easy Thanksgiving Desserts that you can read about here!

Equipment
Pie Dish - I like to bake this in a 9-inch pie dish! However, you can use whatever pie dish you have on hand, just keep in mind it might affect your bake time and the thickness of your pie!
Top tip
To make this recipe quick and easy, I love using store-bought pie crust! You can even buy the pie crust in the freezer section that comes with the foil pie dish for an even easier clean up!
Storage
- Fridge - store in a covered container for about 4-5 days in the fridge!
- Pantry - wrap in foil and store in the pantry for about 2 days!
- Freezer - allow the pie to cool completely after baking, then wrap securely with plastic wrap and then an extra layer with foil. Then just let the pie thaw out for about an hour, then bake at 350 until fully warmed!
FAQ
Absolutely! If you want, you can just lay the whole pie crust on top and crimp the edges together! Then just cut a little cross in the middle to allow airflow!
That's up to you! I don't mind the apple peels in this recipe!
This is more of a personal preference, I always say to use the apple you like best, since the flavor of the apples is pretty prominent!
Cheers!
