The maple extract infuses extra flavor into this already flavorful pumpkin bread! The best way to enjoy this bread is fresh from the oven while it’s still warm! Pumpkin Puree Tips and Tricks

The fall season is full of all types of pumpkin recipes, so here are a few tips and tricks when it comes to buying pumpkin puree for your recipe!

  1. Be sure to buy 100% pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling! Pumpkin pie filling already has sugar and spices added into it, which can throw off your recipe! Be sure to check the label when you’re grabbing a can of pumpkin at the grocery store!
  2. When working with organic pumpkin puree, there can be a bit more moisture in the pumpkin puree, so you might need to squeeze out excess liquid before adding it to your recipes!

Just following these few guidelines to make sure you have the perfect recipe with every can of pumpkin you buy!

Substitutions and Additions:

This Pumpkin Swirl Bread is one of my favorite fall recipes! I love the warmth that the maple extract adds to this recipe! Here are a few ways to spice up this recipe:

Cinnamon Streusel – You can use a simple cinnamon sugar mixture to create a beautiful cinnamon swirl in the bread, or you can spice it up some! You can add in pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, ginger, or any other warm spices! If you want to make this a crunchy cinnamon streusel, you can add in some chopped nuts as well!

Flavorless Oil – I like to use vegetable oil for this recipe, but you can also use coconut oil or olive oil in this recipe! Please note that these could give the recipe a unique flavor but that could also be delicious as well!

Extra Add-ins – Feel free to add in chopped nuts or chocolate chips to make this bread even more delicious!

Equipment Needed:

Glass Mixing Bowls: I have a set of glass mixing bowls that I love to use for this recipe; I use a large to medium bowl for the batter and small bowl for mixing the streusel! It’s great to have in your kitchen when you have a recipe that has a few different steps to it!

Loaf Pan: I like to use an 8 or 9-inch loaf pan for this recipe! If you want, you can also make this recipe in an 8×8 square pan, but it won’t be as thick!

Parchment Paper: This is helpful to make sure that your loaf comes out easily from the pan!

Helpful Tips and Tricks

If you can’t find maple extract at your local grocery store, you’ll be able to find it online or at your local specialty spice store! If you want to leave it out of this recipe, that’s okay too! Although I do urge you to try it at least once during the colder months! The warmth that it adds to a recipe is so cozy! I don’t recommend substituting maple syrup for maple extract, however, as that will add extra sweetness to the recipe!

This Cinnamon Swirl Pumpkin Bread recipe has everything you love about classic pumpkin bread with a warm and cozy maple twist! With just a splash of maple extract, you can add a ton of warmth to this recipe without increasing the sweetness. Your whole house will be infused with the delicious smells of pumpkin and maple extract! The cinnamon swirl mixture pairs perfectly with the moist pumpkin bread making this the perfect treat for fall weather!
