Types of Bread: Feel free to experiment with the types of bread you use in this recipe! You can use thicker bread like challah or even Hawaiian bread would be delicious! You can also use flavored bread like cinnamon swirl or another type from your local bakery!
Seasonings: To change up the flavors, you can really go crazy with the seasonings you use! One of my favorite flavors is cinnamon and vanilla! Or you could add in chocolate chips on top of the bread when it’s baking! Feel free to use whatever flavors you have in your pantry!

Equipment Needed:
Nonstick Skillet – I prefer to use a nonstick skillet to get the perfect golden brown crust on the French toast! You can use a griddle or a regular skillet and add a few tablespoons of butter to prevent sticking!
Mixing Bowl – I like to mix my ingredients all in a bowl, and then pour into a shallow bowl to dip the bread it! This helps make sure you get everything fully mixed before adding the bread!

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1. Cut bread into 1 inch slices.

Step 2. In a bowl, mix together eggs, milk, sugar, lemon juice and zest. Stir together, then add in poppy seeds.

Step 3: Dip bread into egg mixture on each side.

Step 4. Then add to a nonstick skillet until it’s golden brown on each side!
Storage Instructions:
I like to store any remaining French toast pieces in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days! When you’re ready to eat, you can just warm it up in the microwave!

Helpful Tips and Tricks
I like to cut my bread and leave it out overnight to help the bread dry out some! This recipe is really great with bread that’s slightly stale so it absorbs more of the egg mixture without getting soggy!

Ingredients
- 1 loaf Brioche Bread** cut into 1 inch slices
- 3 Eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 Lemon zested
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 tablespoon Poppyseeds
Toppings:
- Powdered Sugar
- Whipped Cream
- Lemon Slices
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together eggs, milk, sugar, lemon juice and zest. Whisk everything together.3 Eggs, 1 1/2 cups Milk, 1/4 cup Sugar, 1 Lemon, 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- Pour into a shallow bowl and add in poppyseeds.1 tablespoon Poppyseeds
- Cut brioche bread into slices, then dip into the egg mixture. About 10 seconds per side!1 loaf Brioche Bread**
- In a nonstick skillet heated over medium heat, add the brioche slice. Let cook on side until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Then flip and cook on the other side.
- Continue until all the bread is cooked!
