Caramel Apples are a classic fall dessert, only made better wrapped in a flakey pie crust in this Caramel Apple Galette! It's the perfect mash up of all the fall flavors!
What is a Caramel Apple Galette?
This dessert brings on all the fall vibes, but to start off, what the heck is a galette? Galette, while it seems fancy, it's actually an easier free-form version of a pie. Where a pie is baked in a specific pan, a galette is made on a sheet-pan and folded on itself to create a pie shape!
I love making galettes because they are so easy to through together. You add your filling and just fold the crust on top! It's easy and its a show-stopper.
You can make basically any fruit pie into a galette. I don't recommend doing a custard pie into a galette since the filling could leak out while it's baking!
Store-Bought Vs. Homemade
To tell you a secret, I *hate* making pie crust. It's something that I struggled with for a long time and I don't enjoy making! But since I love the look of a beautiful homemade pie, I stick with store-bought pie crust.
I love using store-bought pie crust for a ton of different reasons:
- It's easier to use. You don't have to worry about making your own, when you can pop over to the store and buy one!
- It saves on time. Since you're not making a pie dough from scratch, you can save about 30 minutes of time!
Now, if you have a family pie crust recipe that you adore, you should make that instead! I don't want to tell anyone what they can do in their own kitchens!
If there's something you don't enjoy making, don't feel bad about using a store-bought shortcut! No one will know and it will still look (and taste!) amazing!

- Apples
- Cinnamon
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Brown Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- Cornstarch
- Egg
- Water
- Sugar
- Caramel Sauce
- Vanilla Ice Cream
Who needs a big ole' apple pie when you can make this Caramel Apple Galette! I love the flakey pie crust with the cinnamon apples and the caramel drizzle on top! Any apple pie needs a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and this pie is ready to serve!

Caramel Apple Galette
Ingredients
- 1 Store-Bought Pie Crust
- 3 Apples
- 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 3 tablespoons Sugar
- Caramel Sauce
- Vanilla Ice Cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cut apples into ¼ inch slices.3 Apples
- In a large bowl, add apple slices, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.2 teaspoons Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice, ¼ cup Brown Sugar, 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Roll out the store-bought pie crust, and add the apples to the middle, leaving about 2 inches of a border.1 Store-Bought Pie Crust
- Fold the edges over the apples.
- Make an egg wash combining a beaten egg with a splash of water, then brush on the edges of the pie crust.1 Egg, 2 tablespoons Water
- Sprinkle on sugar.3 tablespoons Sugar
- Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the galette from the oven and drizzle with caramel sauce and top with ice cream!Caramel Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream
- Serve and enjoy!
