This Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Date Bark Recipe is perfect for anyone looking for a sweet treat while still trying to be healthy in the new year! It’s also a great recipe for any moms in their third trimester trying to get those dates in (that’s me!). It’s a quick and easy recipe that’s less than five ingredients and the perfect delicious treat!

Why You’ll Love…
The viral date bark recipe has swept over the internet and there’s a ton of different options to choose from! This one is a spin on a traditional candy bar that’s layered with pretzels, peanut butter, caramel and chocolate! Take 5 Bar, anyone!? The juicy Medjool dates act like the perfect caramel layer sandwiched with the crunchy pretzels and smooth peanut butter! Trust me, it feels like a rich chocolate bar but healthy!

Substitutions and Additions:
There’s a ton of different options on how to make this date bark so here are some of my favorite options!
Add Crunch: I love the delightful crunch of the salty pretzels but you could also make this a healthy alternative to a Snickers bar where you use crushed peanuts instead! That would also add a good salty bite to it! Or you could do both peanuts and pretzels for extra crunch!
Swap Out the Peanut Butter: You can also do any type of nut butter you prefer, from almond butter all the way to sunflower seed butter!
Change Out the Chocolate: From white chocolate to dark chocolate, you can use your favorite type of chocolate options!

Equipment Needed:
Parchment Paper – I like to use parchment paper when rolling out the date layer to avoid a sticky mess on your hands! This recipe calls for a rolling pin to roll out the dates into a thin layer and without the parchment paper, the dates can get really sticky and stick to the rolling pin! For best results, I recommend sandwiching the dates between two layers of parchment paper!
Microwave-Safe Bowl – This is great for melting down the chocolate chips!
Rolling Pin – I prefer to use a rolling pin to help flatten out the dates into the perfect thin layer!

Step 2. Then spread a layer of peanut butter over the dates.

Step 3: Press the pretzels into the peanut butter layer.

Step 4. Then pour over the melted chocolate. Sprinkle with sea salt and let the chocolate set before cutting into pieces!
Storage Instructions:
Store any leftover date bark in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3-4 days!

Helpful Tips and Tricks
If you’re having a hard time spreading out the peanut butter, you can always melt the peanut butter in the microwave in 30-second increments. This help you pour over the peanut butter! If you do this, I would let the peanut butter set for a few minutes in the fridge before adding the pretzels!
You can also chop the pretzels into small pieces before adding to the peanut butter layer! This help ensure a crunchy pretzel in every bite!
This Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Date Bark Recipe is the perfect sweet treat to ring in the new year! As a mom in her third trimester, I’m looking for all the ways to sneak in dates but in a fun and delicious way! You’ll find me munching on this recipe until baby girl gets here!
