Why You'll Love This Recipe
You'll love these Halloween Mummy Rice Krispie Treats because they are a quick treat that tastes just like your childhood with a sweet white chocolate drizzle!
White Chocolate
White chocolate is actually one of my favorite chocolates, you won't find my pantry without a bag of white chocolate chips! It's called white chocolate from the lack of cocoa that's actually in it. That's why there's always some speculation on if white chocolate can actually be called 'chocolate'.
However, I think it's a crucial chocolate that deserves it's place in our hearts and homes!
If you're not a fan of white chocolate, you can also use candy or almond bark that's found in most grocery stores! You can also add a few drops of food coloring to create whatever Halloween creature you would like from ghosts, to Frankenstein, to monsters, to mummies!
Rice Krispie Treats
Rice Krispie Treats are the ultimate childhood treat! I used to love getting these in my lunch box!
The base of rice krispies is literally four ingredients: butter, marshmallows, rice cereal, and vanilla extract! I love to use mini marshmallows because I reserve about a cup and a half of mini marshmallows to sprinkle in the cereal so when you pour the melted marshmallows over the rice cereal you get little spots of gooey marshmallows throughout! Those are always my favorite bite!
To make this recipe even easier, you can also just use store-bought rice krispies!

Variations and Substitutions
This is such a quick and easy recipe, but here are a few options you can use to switch up the recipe!
- Monster Treats - add the white chocolate to different bowls and add blue, green, and pink food colors to each bowl! Dip the top half of the rice krispies to create little monsters! You can even add some sprinkles to give them crazy hair!
- Graham Cracker Crunch - add some crushed graham cracker to the rice cereal mixture for some extra crunch!
- Cereal Switch Up - add a different type of cereal like chocolate rice cereal or fruity rice cereal!

Equipment
Square Pan - I like to use an 8x8 square pan for this recipe! The size of the pan dictates how thick the rice krispies will be! If you use a rectangular pan, you'll get thinner rice krispies!
Parchment Paper - This helps with the removal of the treats from the pan! It makes clean up a breeze!
Nonstick Spray - The marshmallow mixture can get pretty sticky, so it's nice to have some non-stick spray in case you need it for the spatula!
