Must-Have Burger Sauce!

Fourth of July weekend is here! Time for burgers, grilling, swimming, and fireworks!

I wouldn’t really describe myself as an outdoorsy person, but something about the Fourth of July weekend makes me want to stay outside all day long! Preferably by the pool with a drink in my hand and burgers on the grill! My brother-in-law is the grilling king in our household and makes the most delicious burgers ever! Well, anything he puts on the grill turns out pretty darn delicious, but burgers are my personal favorite so they take the cake!

It’s not Fourth of July for me without having a grilled dinner and a strawberry shortcake for dessert (you can find that post under my ‘Sweets’ section!)! I’m also typically a purist when it comes to how my beef is cooked… I believe in good quality meat that really only needs salt and pepper as a seasoning! Simple, but classic.

One of the reasons I prefer my beef so simple is because I am all about some sauce! Ketchup, mustard, honey mustard, buffalo, I love them all! My ideal burger is built with bun, burger, cheese, sauce, and a top bun! That’s all I need!

This burger sauce is amazing for two reasons. It combines all of those classic toppings into one delicious sauce, and most of these are probably already in your kitchen! These are the ratios that I prefer, but honestly, I’ve never made this sauce the same way twice! Sometimes I’m feeling in the mood for more mustard, sometimes I need a bit more ketchup! It’s totally up to you and the guests at the table!

As a side note, I used sour cream as my base because I love the creamy tanginess of it, but if you don’t love it as much, just add a 1/4 cup of mayonnaise instead and it’ll be just as good!

Ingredients:

1/3 cup of sour cream

2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

3 tablespoons of mustard

2 tablespoons of relish

3 tablespoons of ketchup

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

1/4 teaspoon of chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

I hope this recipe won’t be too long and confusing for anyone. I tried to condense it as much as I could…

Combine all the ingredients into one bowl and stir to combine. Serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to use!

Add in the sour cream…
Then the mustard…
Then the relish… I love the little pops of relish in this!
And then the ketchup and spices!
I like to add a very generous helping to my burgers!

This sauce is amazing on burgers, but really, you could dip just about anything into this sauce and it would still be amazing. French fries, tater tots, onion rings, chicken nuggets, fish sticks… the list goes on and on.

Happy Fourth!
