Sausage Bombs

If you’re looking for something savory amongst the midst of all the cookie recipes, look no further!

I know, I get swept up in all the cookie recipes and sweet treats of the season. I mean, they are my favorite part of the holidays. But sometimes, you need something savory to balance out all the sweetness. If one hand is holding a cookie, then the other hand might as well hold one of these delicious Sausage Bombs.

This recipe is actually a favorite of mine because I have such warm, wonderful memories associated with it! One year, while my sister and I were opening up presents with my mom, she surprised us with these little biscuit sausage bites! They were warm and gooey from the cheese, but so soft and moist from the biscuit batter, and spicy and flavorful from the sausage. It was the perfect little snack during all the present opening!

What I really love about this recipe is that it can be made all in one bowl! Yup, you read that right! Just toss the ingredient into one bowl and you are good to go! So not only does this come together super fast, but you have fewer dishes to do. Which is always a win in my book, to be honest.

I used a small cookie scoop for these because I wanted them to be more of an appetizer size. However, you could always use a large cookie scoop and serve these for breakfast if you wanted to!


3 cups of Bisquick

1 pound of Italian sausage

8 ounces of mild cheddar cheese

3/4 cup of milk

2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning

2 teaspoons of parsley

1 pinch of cayenne

Salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 350-degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick, Italian seasoning, parsley, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Whisk together.

Using a box grater, grate the cheddar cheese using the large grate section. Add the cheese and milk to the dry mixture and whisk together. Then add in the raw sausage. Using a spatula, make sure all the ingredients are mixed together.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a small cookie scoop, or two spoons, scoop out some of the sausage mixture and place it on the baking sheet.

Once all the mixture has been scooped out, bake for about 20-25 minutes.

Let cool slightly! I like to serve these with ketchup or a tangy BBQ sauce! But they’re delicious all on their own!

These make the most delicious appetizer! It’s like all the best qualities of a biscuit mixed with cheese and sausage! Who wouldn’t like that?!? I would eat these every day if I could!
