These Brown Butter S'mores Rice Krispie Treats are the grown up version of your favorite childhood treat. Warm and nutty browned butter pairs perfectly with the sweet marshmallow and crunchy crackers in this dessert! It's an easy dessert that comes together in less than 30 minutes but is loaded up with flavor!

What's inside these Brown Butter S'mores Rice Krispie Treats?!

Browned butter, sweet marshmallow, chocolate chips, and crushed graham crackers all in one dessert!? I mean, it really doesn't get better than that!

To start off, I brown the butter in a large saucepan. The butter will melt, then start to foam, then will begin to brown! Right as the butter begins to brown, I like to add in the marshmallows.

It can't be s'mores without chocolate and graham cracker, which adds the perfect little crunch to these bars!

Chewy Marshmallow Treats

To get the perfect chewy marshmallow treats, I like to add sweetened condensed milk to the mixture!

The sweetened condensed milk adds not only a perfect little touch of sweetness but helps add creamy liquid to the marshmallow mixture! When the cereal and graham cracker get mixed in, you have the perfect chewy marshmallow treat!

If you don't have any sweetened condensed milk on hand, you can leave it out!

Tips and Tricks

These Brown Butter S'mores Rice Krispie Treats are so delicious but they're equally as sticky, so I have a few tips and tricks to manage the mess!

  1. Keep the nonstick cooking spray by you at all times! I like to give my spatula a few spritz with the nonstick cooking spray to make sure the marshmallow doesn't get stuck to it!
  2. Use parchment paper in the pan you're going to put the rice krispies in! I like to use my 8-inch square pan with parchment paper which helps the rice krispies not stick it when they're harden and set! It also helps to remove them from the pan so you can cut them!
