Browned Butter Banana Bread

I can't think of anything more delicious than a warm slice of banana bread, unless it's Browned Butter Banana Bread! Adding browned butter to a soft, sweet, delicious banana bread turns all the warm, cozy vibes up to a million!

Browned Butter Banana Bread

Think of the most delicious banana bread you've had, then double that, and it would be this banana bread.

Maybe I'm biased, but I wholeheartedly believe that adding brown butter to anything is going to make it delicious. This banana bread is no exception!

The browned butter adds a warmth and nuttiness to the banana bread that is so delicious when paired with the sweet bananas and the cinnamon. It adds a depth of flavor that makes this banana bread rich and delicious!

If you don't want to use browned butter though, you can make the recipe the exact same way, except you can leave off the two extra tablespoons of butter! Just melt a stick of butter like normal and you're good to go!

Add-ins Galore!

I like this banana bread just the way it is! But if you're looking to add a little extra something-something, I have a few things in mind!

Peanut Butter - Add in half the batter, then dollop a few tablespoons of peanut butter on top. Then add the rest of the batter. Add a few tablespoons to the top. Then take a knife and make little swirls throughout the batter.

Nutella - Do exactly like you would with peanut butter and you'll end up with delicious swirls of Nutella throughout the bread!

Chopped Nuts - You could add walnuts, pecans, or even sunflower seeds throughout or just sprinkled on top!

Chocolate Chips - You can't really go wrong with adding more chocolate to anything!

I have always loved banana bread but I knew this was going to steal my heart.

I mean, brown butter AND banana bread together!?! Talk about a match made in heaven.

Browned Butter Banana Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Bananas
  • 11 tablespoons Butter melted
  • ⅔ cups Brown Sugar packed
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Add butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Slowly stir every minute or so, until the butter begins to bubble. Then whisk constantly until the butter is a warm amber color.
  • Set butter aside to cool.
  • Add bananas to a bowl with cinnamon and mash until the bananas are mainly smooth with some chunks.
  • Add in browned butter, sugar, and vanilla. Stir everything together.
  • Add in one egg at a time, until they are fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gently, mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture.
  • Pour into a parchment paper-lined loaf pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for about 45-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

    I’ve always been a fan of banana bread and adding brown butter takes it to the next level. I can’t believe it took me this long to try this recipe. It’s soo delicious. You must add this to your fall baking list!
