What are Peanut Butter Crunch Cookies?
Peanut Butter Crunch Cookies are my idea of a peanut butter kitchen sink cookie. If you've never heard of a kitchen sink cookie, it's basically where you toss a bunch of random mix-ins into your cookie dough and it creates this wild cookie combination.
It's like the saying, "everything but the kitchen sink," but in cookie form. I love these types of cookies because you can add whatever you want and it always ends up working out!
Some of my favorite combinations are adding chips, chocolate chips, peanuts, pretzels, dried fruit, candy, etc. See how fun these cookies are to make?! It's basically a pantry clean out in the most delicious way!
Kitchen Sink Cookies
Even though the whole point is to add whatever you like to these cookies, I try to stick to a few rules with these cookies.
To get the best kitchen sink cookie, I have three things I always add to get the best flavor and texture:
- Sweet - I like to add one sweet mix-in to my cookies, whether that's chocolate chips, dried fruit, or some chopped candy. The sweetness is crucial especially with the next ingredient!
- Salty - I like to add one salty ingredient to these cookies that helps balance out all the sweetness of the cookie. Sweet and salty is my favorite combination. This could be pretzels, chips, chopped nuts, or even just some flakey salt on top!
- Crunchy - This is usually tied in with the salty object, but this could also be cereal, or even freeze dried fruit. I love having a little bit of crunch especially with the chewiness of the cookie!
Using these three tips, you can add whatever you like and I promise, it's going to be amazing! To spice up these Peanut Butter Crunch Cookies, you could add chips or pretzels instead of the cereal and that would amazing too!
