A shot of the Very Berry smoothie

If you like smoothies, then you’re in luck! This Berry Smoothie Bowl transforms smoothies from a simple drink into a full blown meal! Loaded up with almonds, more berries, and a big drizzle of honey, this smoothie bowl is the perfect way to start your day!

Berries, Berries, and More Berries!

You should know by now that I am all about making my recipes (and life) easier! So, for this recipe, I just used a frozen berry blend that I found at my local grocery store. If you can’t find it, you can use whatever kind of berry blend, or fruit that you would like to use.

You can use fresh fruit with this, but I recommend putting them in the freezer the night before you want to make this so they can be cold. Otherwise, it doesn’t really have the same effect and could end up a lot thinner. More like a fruit gazpacho, which we aren’t really going for.

Berry Smoothie Bowl VS Regular Smoothie

Of course, at the bare bones of this recipe, it’s really just a berry smoothie. With that being said, I think there are two different types of people that would benefit from a smoothie bowl versus a regular smoothie.

So if you’re looking for something quick that you can just sip on while you’re working or getting ready, definitely go with a smoothie. Easy to drink, quick to make, no real fuss there.

If you are someone who likes to eat their breakfast a little slower and/or you feel like smoothies don’t really fill you up, then I recommend a smoothie bowl. The one advantage of a smoothie bowl is that you can add toppings like extra fruit, nuts, coconut, chocolate, granola, etc. There’s a lot more you can add if you feel like a typical smoothie doesn’t fill you up.

Notes

I used regular milk for this, but any kind of milk/yogurt will do. Please feel free to substitute with any non-dairy alternatives that you like better!
This is also a very thick mixture. I like my mixture to be a little bit looser than a frozen yogurt. If you think it’s too thick, just add a little bit more milk!
Servings: 1 Bowl

Just a reminder that smoothie bowls may not be for everyone! No worries there, just add extra milk to this recipe! Go check out my Everyday Morning Smoothie here if you want other smoothie options!

If you do make a smoothie bowl, go wild with the toppings! I love adding granola, nuts, or even just extra fruit to the top of mine!

Whatever fruit you want to use, the opportunities for this Smoothie Bowl are literally endless!

Cheers!
