These cookies are super easy to make because the best part of this recipe is that it uses a box cake mix for all of the dry ingredients! If you’ve never made cake mix cookies, it’s really a great recipe to keep in your back pocket! I love to have a cake mix as some of my pantry staples because you can actually turn a cake mix into a lot of different things from pancakes, to muffins, and of course, cookies! At it’s base, cake mix cookies really only need oil, eggs, and cake mix, which makes it a three ingredient marvel! From there, you can add whatever you want! For example, this recipe uses pumpkin puree to help infuse the cake mix with the perfect fall flavor!

That’s why a coffee cake is one of my favorites to make because it’s a single layer and you don’t even have to make a frosting to go with it! This crumble topping is one of my favorites because the brown sugar and cinnamon together are a match made in heaven! I use it on pies, galette, cookies, and even muffins! Top tip

When it comes to making recipes warm and cozy, don’t skip over how seasonings can make a difference! Take a batch of regular chocolate chip cookies, add a pinch cinnamon and you instantly have a warmer version of classic cookies!

When it comes to savory dishes, cumin, nutmeg and even cinnamon work well! I love adding a pinch of nutmeg to tomato sauce for spaghetti or adding cinnamon to my winter squash recipes!

This can apply to drinks as well! Think about your mocktails or cocktails and add a cinnamon stick to make it extra seasonal! There’s nothing better than a warm cup of mulled cider or mulled wine to go with any of these cozy dinner recipes ahead! I love a warm drink to end a cozy night in, whether that’s hot chocolate, hot tea, or a Hot Toddy! I like to keep my options open!

They’re delicious all on their own, or you can enjoy with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or some maple syrup! It’s a great recipe to make a double batch and then you can freeze some to have on a rainy day!

When it comes to breakfast food, French toast is one of my favorites to get at restaurant. Even other pancakes and waffles, I’m going for the French Toast! But when I was younger, the ultimate treat was getting a box of frozen French toast sticks! Admittedly, I used way too much syrup, but I guess that’s what made my sweet tooth so strong today! It’s a warm and cozy treat that I love to enjoy on a slow week day morning with a cup of coffee!

I like to serve my sloppy Joe mixture right over a warm roasted sweet potato! The contract of the savory filling with the sweet potato mixture is absolutely heavenly! I like to add a sprinkle of cilantro and this dish is ready to serve!

You can also make these into Sloppy Joe Nachos and make a whole sheet pan of it! You can lay out sweet potato French fries, add some shredded cheese, a few olives, maybe some sour cream, and it’s a fun dish to enjoy while watching winter movies!

7. Chicken And Rice Soup

There’s nothing better than chicken soup during a cozy night! This Chicken and Rice soup is everything you love about chicken noodle soup but with rice instead! It feels hearty and more filling than the traditional! It’s the perfect cozy comfort food to serve with some parmesan cheese and a glass of white wine! One of my favorite shortcuts with this recipe is to use store-bought shredded chicken! It makes this recipe come together even quicker! One thing that I love about soups is that you can really customize it to your taste pallet! So you can leave out the chicken and add in chickpeas or another kind of bean if you want to make this a vegetarian soup! Or you can add in different vegetables that you like instead of the carrots! You can add in potatoes, squash, peppers; honestly, the options are pretty endless!

If you really want to step up the cozy vibes, I recommend pouring this soup into individual bread bowls! Nothing is better than dipping a crusty loaf of bread in soup besides the crusty bread being the bowl!

I like to use ground turkey in this recipe, but you can use ground beef, chicken or even leave it for a cozy vegetarian dinner! A squeeze of fresh lime juice, some sharp cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream, and this dinner is ready!

If you really want to step up the cozy vibes, I recommend pouring this soup into individual bread bowls! Nothing is better than dipping a crusty loaf of bread in soup besides the crusty bread being the bowl!

9. Sweet Potato Kale Salad

Okay, I know that salads aren’t typically considered “cozy dinner” options! However, during the winter season my diet consists of about 80% sweet treats from Christmas cookies, to hot chocolate, I really need a dish that can pack in all those veggies that I need! One way to make this dish even heartier is to grab a rotisserie chicken from the store and add that to the top of this salad! It pairs perfectly with the sweet homemade honey mustard dressing, the warm sweet potatoes and the crisp crunchy apples! To make this feel even more cozy, you can serve this salad with a warm loaf of bread, think rosemary focaccia or a homemade loaf of sourdough! Cozy season is baking season, so now is a great time to practice that sourdough starter! I’m learning right there with you!

When it comes to cozy comforting meals, I’m all about quick recipes that come together in less than 30 minutes. Unless, of course, we’re talking about crockpot meals that cook low and slow all day long! Who needs a seasonal candle when you can have a crockpot dinner going all day! It just makes the house that much cozier!

Not cozy meal is complete without a sweet treat, which is why this post has some of my all time favorite cozy sweets! From quick and easy puppy chow, to cake mix cookies, there’s a ton of quick and easy options to finish out your day! Be sure to try out any of these recipes to make your winter even cozier!

Cheers!
